Shoebox Appeal

Barton Rotary Club shoebox appeal

At Bowmandale Primary School we had a special visitor before the Christmas of 2009. They were from the Barton Rotary Club. When they came we were all wondering in suspense. Then they got a shoe box out of a plastic bag. When they showed us the film about the boxes half way through it stopped. Luckily we already got what it was about. I chose house hold as my category because there were more things for that. The other categories were teenagers and age 1 – 10. The boxes went to Romania on truck.

At Bowmandale we did a Rotary shoebox appeal to help others in less fortunate places like Romania. The boxes were collected a couple of weeks before Christmas so they would be there in time. In the boxes there were different types like young people (boy or girl), teenagers and household things. We put things like hats, scarves and gloves, toys and toiletries and clothes. We shared these things so others can have a great Christmas to.
