Welcome to Bowmandale
| School Life
To make the transition into school easier, we would like to invite you and your child to ELP - Bowmandale's Early Learning Project.
All new Foundation children starting school in September are invited to come and spend some time with us in the summer term. We run hour long ELP sessions on a Thursday afternoon, over a 6 week period. For the first 3 weeks parents attend with their children. Then for next 3 weeks the children attend on their own!
Each week the sessions will focus on a different big book to which activities are related. ELP provides an opportunity for you and your child to experience reading, writing, speaking, listening and numeracy in an enjoyable way.
Each week follows the same format:
1. Tick off your name and find your badge.
Signing in and collecting a badge from Mrs. McWilliam, our Nursery Nurse
2. Activities are then set out for you and your child to try.
Our activities include decorating biscuits, sharing a book, painting and making models
3. Break for juice and biscuits.
4. Time for a story or rhyme.
Mrs. Fallowfield, our Foundation Teacher, reads a story
5. Select a book to take home before you leave.
For information on the school day, dress codes, school rules and more, please download the School Booklet. A booklet detailing the Early Learning Goals is also available.
