• EIS Visit

  Eight of the Y6 children visited the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield today to take part in a Future Stars event.  The children took part in fitness, athletics and basketball activities, as well as having a tour of the facilities that are often used by Olympians.  Whilst there, the children were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Olympic boxer Lauren Price in training.

  

• Robinwood

  The Year 4 children have all been amazing on their residential visit to Robinwood this week.  They have all had the chance to learn new skills and have all shown a fantastic growth mindset with some of the tricky challenges.  We are very proud of them all.

  

• Young Voices

  The school choir had an amazing day yesterday performing at the Young Voices Concert at Utilita Arena Sheffield.  They all represented the school wonderfully and thoroughly enjoyed being part of such a fantastic concert.

  

• Christmas Fun

  We have had a fabulous December in school with a range of wonderful Christmas events - nativity performances, a whole school visit to the pantomime, the choir performing at Barton Christmas festival, Christmas lunch, a festive fun run, a Christmas Fayre and class parties!

• Visiting the WWII Bunker in Inspire

  Some children in KS2 went with Mr Davey in their Inspire session this morning to visit the WWII Bunker in Barton.  They had a brilliant time and we also received this wonderful feedback after the visit.

   

  'Thank you for visiting this morning, the children were a true credit to Bowmandale and I do hope they have been inspired to learn more about Barton's history.'

• Year 5 Roman Workshop Day

  The Y5 children all had a wonderful day on Tuesday learning more about the Romans.  They did a range of activities to support their learning in school.

  

• Annual Conker Competition

  It was the final of our annual KS2 conker competition this afternoon.  All of the children who participated showed wonderful sportsmanship and it was a brilliant event for the whole school to watch.  Well Done to the winners!

  

• World Mental Health Day

  We were all very proud to come to school today wearing something yellow in support of World Mental Health Day.  The children across the school also completed a range of activities to think about when they feel really calm.
